Arran holiday cottage with en-suite bedrooms
At Gille Ghagaich, every standard bedroom has its own ensuite facilities. For a traditional Arran steading, that is a genuine luxury – and one that makes day-to-day holiday life feel smoother and more relaxed.
Upstairs, the twin bedroom (which can be made up as a super-king) has its own ensuite shower room and w.c. Next door, the family bedroom with three single beds has a full ensuite bathroom and w.c. It means that, as a rule, no one is ever waiting in a chilly hallway with a towel under their arm, hoping the bathroom will finally be free.
No Morning Queues, No Fuss
If you are away with family or friends, you will know how precious unhurried mornings can be. Having en-suite bedrooms means everyone can get up, shower and dress in their own time, without having to negotiate a rota or rush through a quick wash before breakfast.
For parents, it is especially practical: children can use the bathroom attached to their own room, while adults have a separate space of their own. Multi-generational groups often comment that this simple detail of having en-suite bedrooms makes sharing a cottage feel much easier.
Comfort for Couples and Friends
The layout also works well for couples travelling together or small groups of friends. Each pair has a private “suite” upstairs, with their own bathroom just a few steps from the bed. You can enjoy sociable evenings around the dining table or by the woodburner, then retreat to your own room and ensuite at the end of the night.
The downstairs super-king bedroom, available by separate arrangement, has a shower room and w.c. close by as well. This gives even more flexibility if someone in your party prefers to be on the ground floor or simply wants extra space and quiet.
Practical Details, Thoughtfully Done
All bathrooms have electric towel rails and shaver points, and hot water and heating are managed carefully so that the cottage stays comfortable in all seasons. Bed linen and bath towels are provided; you simply need to bring beach towels and cot linen.
It is a very practical arrangement, but it also feels quiet indulgent. In a traditional cottage on the peaceful west coast of Arran, having more bathrooms than you might expect makes a real difference – fewer queues, more privacy, and a more restful holiday for everyone.
